TROUBLESHOOTING

Fix a failed or inaccurate transcript

Confirm the language, connection, and processing choice before retrying.

A clear recording can still fail because of connection, processing, or audio quality. The audio itself is never lost when a transcript is.

How to do it

  1. 1

    Play the recording

Open it and confirm the audio is present and understandable.

  2. 2

    Check the processing setting

Cloud transcription needs a network connection. On-device transcription depends on device support. Both switches are in Settings → Recording & AI.

  3. 3

    Run it again

Open the item’s “⋯” menu and choose Re-process — on a short voice note it reads Re-transcribe. On a recording, Cresca asks where it should run, so a failed on-device attempt can be sent to the cloud, or the other way round.

  4. 4

If the speech was not English

There is no per-recording language picker to set — Cresca works it out. For live dictation you can turn on Multilingual dictation in Settings → Recording & AI, which puts a language switcher in front of you while you speak.

  5. 5

    Edit important details

Correct names, numbers, dates, and commitments manually.
