On-device or cloud transcription
Choose local processing for privacy or cloud processing when you prefer its quality.
Cresca lets you choose how speech is transcribed. The setting affects AI processing, not whether your recording is saved to your private Cresca storage.
On-device transcription
Speech transcription happens on your phone and is not sent to a cloud AI provider for transcription.
The audio recording can still sync to your private Cresca storage.
Cloud transcription
The relevant audio is sent to an AI provider to create the transcript. This may provide better quality for some recordings.
Change the setting
Open Settings → Recording & AI and review AI features and On-device transcription.
